Yeah, usually the battery life presented is just standby time. You could probably get more usage out if it, but since you’re on the internet it’ll use more power just to connect to the internet. You have to run ram, graphics card, hard drive, and the motherboard to start. I’d say 2 hours is about right.
It says on the Samsung site "*Battery life based on BatteryMark test scores that will vary based on configuration"
But having said that, there’s a big difference between the 2 hours you’ve been getting and the 12 hours Samsung claim. Perhaps you have a faulty battery? Your laptop will still be under guarantee since it’s new, so I’d contact Samung and tell them about the problem and ask if they will give you a replacement battery
