The kindle is the best ebook reader, so if reading ebooks is your primary goal I would opt for that.
The web browser is actually very good but it’s not built for rich media like flash etc, so the device is primarily for reading for a long time without strain. Backlits tend to cause eyestrain – and since the kindle has no backlit you can look at it all day in normal light just like paper, and big pro as an ereader.
