There are 3 suggestions to question “HP TouchPad Tips: Would it be stupid buiyng an HP Touchpad?”

  1. I personally think buying the TouchPad would be a dumb idea. It’s aimed really more towards corporate environments. The only thing I see that’s a plus, purely from a developer standpoint, is the fact that you can use C++ to develop apps instead of being kept to Java on the Android platform. Since it’s already a dead platform, why buy something that is already obsolete, even if it’s only $ 100?

  2. The answer is yes. Although, probably not more stupid than the other things you do / say.

  3. Kindle $ 150ish
    iPod Touch $ 200ish

    HP TouchPad $ 99.99

The TouchPad can do all the things that other tablets can do. It is a eBook reader, mp3 player, internet browser, all rolled into one. And it is only $ 100. If you can afford it, you would be ridiculous not to buy it. Go look at the price of all the other tablets out there.
Sometimes the OS may run a bit slow, and there may not be much support for it in the future. However HP has only discontinued the TouchPad, not the OS (Web OS). Also there is a very large amount of people working on porting the Android system onto the TouchPad, in which case you would have all the Android apps, if apps are something you want. (Keep in mind that Web OS reportedly has more tablet friendly apps than Android.)
