To the mini it’s just TCPIP.
Broadband is a description of the transport that the TCPIP is using after it leaves the mini. As long as the nic in the mini is faster than the broadband ( and it is many, many times faster) the connection is unaware of the broadband.
The phrase mentioned in the previous answer is just warning you that it aint free. You’ve got to pay someone for the broadband.
Interesting question. Any new laptop is broadband capable. However, this is what I have found on HP site:
"5Broadband use requires separately purchased service contract. Check with service provider for coverage and availability in your area."
