There are 5 suggestions to question “how do you fix a cracked laptop screen?”

  1. The screen will need to be replaced – for a professional job it will probably cost more than the netbook is worth

You can get replacement screens for about $51 on ebay.

but then you have to fit it, it’s not that difficult but you would have to be good at DIY if you have never done this thing before.

here is a youtube video on how to do it

If possible you might be able to claim on your house contents insurance under accidental damage?

  2. buy a new laptop

  3. lol that sucks. Usually at ebay.com you can find screens to replace your current model. You just need to look up the part number but if you don’t know it just use the laptop model name and look for screens on ebay. If your not good at doing a self repair.. you can always buy the screen and take it to a local repair shop (e.g. bestbuy or computer shop) and have them replace it for you.
You’ll be charged only for labor and not [expensive] parts.

  4. The screen cannot be fixed but can be REPLACED. Take the laptop to a repair tech for that. The price varies. You might you ebay to check the price. also note that warranty does not cover cracked screen.

    Good luck!

  5. Laptop screens cannot be fixed, only replaced.

While you can find the part online or take it somewhere for repair, be warned that the cost of the LCD is often 60% of the cost of the laptop. If the laptop is older (1+ year), it may be more cost effective to purchase a new laptop.
