Can you help me choose a laptop for uni?

Sorry for the deceptive question, though we couldn’t get all the item in there.

I’m starting to university in October, as well as will need the laptop. we find seeking during opposite laptops upon the internet incredibly formidable since there have been so most of them as well as they have been formidable to compare, so I’m asking in the goal which someone will have the little experience.

Features which have been critical to me:

Good peculiarity set of keys (reasonable size, good for lengthened durations of typing)
Good set up quality
Reasonable battery life
Light as well as smallish – it will need to be ok to projection around the lot
Capable opening – it will be often the work machine, though we similar to photography so it would be good if it could cope with light GIMP work.
Ubuntu harmony would be nice

Things I’m not worried about:
Brands
Hard expostulate space (I keep all my files upon an outmost HDD)

I’m formulation to outlay no some-more than £300-350, reconditioned.

So far, I’ve taken the genuine gleam to the HP Mini 2140 for the compactness, keyboard, continuance as well as battery life. But is prolonged durations of typing upon the 10in shade annoying, as well as will it cope with elementary print editing?
