my daughter longed for a laptop/netbook for christmas. she kind of longed for a hp touchsmart tx2. though im not certain upon what laptop/netbook is great for her. any suggestions?
There are 6 suggestions to question “best laptop/netbook to get a 13 year old?”
NetBooks kind of really suck. Very underpowered for what you pay. They are geared for very specific uses. Do you have a set budget? The touchsmart is wasted on a 13 year old. They are overpriced and the touchscreen is more novelty than anything else, and she will get bored of it. You’re better off getting a normal laptop and buying a tablet for it if you want to do graphical artwork. If she isn’t doing that, than she doesn’t need a tablet or the touchsmart.
BestBuy has a Dell laptop that comes in 3 colors (green, blue, pink) at $500. It is 14.1 inches, has a built in webcam, and she can do all of her schoolwork on it. It also has a dvd burner (which netbooks don’t have built-in), so she can watch movies on it during car rides. The small screen makes it very portable, so she can carry it around with her when she needs it.
what she need a touchsmart for… it only the touching that fun, :\ besides that I dont find it that much better than normal one. I guess she dont run colossal programs, just give her a netbook to fiddle with, when she a bit bigger and know how to use laptop properly, u can try something more expensive.

choose a small laptop,…… not a net book,…. as they are just to limited for the money that you pay.
They are good for basic internet use only, have low powered hardware, and have no dvd player unless you buy one
