There are 3 suggestions to question “Are ASUS Laptops any good?”

  1. Personally, I would save a little more and get a better computer. Asus is one of the best PC brands, but netbooks, regardless of the brand, are very slow. Intel Atom processors are probably the slowest processors still sold. Although you didn’t list how much RAM it has, I’m assuming it only has 1 GB of RAM, which is very slow. Save a little more and get a faster computer. Even if it is a worse brand, you are getting more for your money. Besides, brand isn’t always everything. The brand is only the company that makes the enclosures, puts the hardware in it and sells it. All of the hardware is bought from the same companies. Especially if you are planning on just keeping it on a desk, it isn’t completely necessary to get a good brand.

  2. This laptop is better

  3. Those specs seem a bit mediocre. I think the HDD in that is a bit small, espcially if you have a lot of media or programs to download. Also, a 10.1" screen is tiny, and the wireless card in that is a bit poor.

But either way, I figure you’re on a budget, and it would probably do the job fine.
